FEMA Requiring Flood Insurance In Union City

After a tornado ripped through Union City in May of 2013 F.E.M.A. looked deeper into that area and now considers it a flood plain.

This determination now requires residents in that area to purchase flood insurance which is no easy task.

We spoke with the owner of the Union City Flea Market who has been unable to find flood insurance for his business which is right next to the creek.

He says if he is required to have flood insurance from F.E.M.A. that he will go out of business because he simply cannot afford it.

Many other homeowners are in the same position in that area trying to find flood insurance to cover them.
